Homecoming from the Summer Perspective!

So i finally got around to making a blog about HOMECOMING! here it is!
(this pictures are in backwards order but its the best i can do!)

We had a mormon dance at the Kerr's house and they have this half window kind of thing in thier kitchen that looks into the living room. That's Korey and i dancing in the living room!

The Kerr's have this freaky looking guy for Halloween, that everyone was taking picture with!

This balcony looked out over the living room

After we ate dinner we went to the Miller's house and made dessert. Korey and I made a ice cream dog with an orange as the head.

The weather was SO cold and SOOO icy that Korey got his tounge stuck to the car antena! haha!.....well not really stuck...just pretending to!

This was at the begining of the date, after korey and I had taken a nice slide/waltz down the drive way!
Homecoming was SOOO fun1 I had a blast. I am really grateful I got to go plus nothing can be better when you have spartan shoes, home made, like these:

A favorite Past time

Since we don't have a very exciting life I thought I'd just throw in a blog about one of our fun things we do after dinner every night. Dad and I play a game of ping pong. We are getting kind of good at it and welcome all challengers. Summer is too good and so when we get to her level we'll start a tournament. There is one thing that is true in ping pong and in all things...Greed will get you every time.

Summer fun in the fall

Summer had her Young Women in Excellence this past week. It was a safari and Summer (she's in the presidency) was a guide. That's her on the left.
She shared a display of her great decorating. She did her room and bathroom. They are the only cute rooms in our house.
It was homecoming week this past week too. Summer created a great shirt for blue and green day and I made her a cool skirt. She was awesome and had these amazing blue and green shoes she made. I'm sure she'll add more to the blog later.

She went to the dance (Mormon style) with Kory MacGill. They made a cute pair of...
ICESKATERS!!!! The weather was like this--

And so when Kory came to pick up Summer. I had made a "red carpet" out of some moving blankets we had in the garage but they weren't quite long enough and just putting one toe on our very steep and very slick driveway and away they went, twirling, whirling, spinning and sliding till they landed still on their feet at the bottom in the street. I wished I would have been videoing it. I would have won America's funniest videos for sure. It was great.

Just before the fall.

Family Time

September goes down as a great month. Mainly because we got to see all of our children right at the time we thought we'd only have one kid left at home. What a deal. We even got to see them all in the same spot on Earth at the same time, even if it was for just a couple hours, we'll take what we can get. So enjoy some pics. By the way, we have hot-bod, good looking girls, sons-in-laws and especially grandkids (not the hot-bod part).
All 13 1/2 of us. By March we will have added a Jimmy and a Whoknowswhat Linde.

Ally in her usual array of neckware. We especially liked the bellCousins deep in thought....hmmmmm. Well, maybe not.

Ram in his blessing outfit. He looked very manly.

The Roy girls!!!!

So the three pictures above are a series...Ally got hurt in the first picture, don't worry she's fine in the second but wants to be held and in the third picture of the Roy family you can probably tell CJ is holding Ram off behind Jamie but you probably can't tell Jamie is holding Ally off behind her too. Unless you notice the tiny little hand sticking out behind Charina's shoulder.

It was a great WEEKEND!!!!!!!! PS-Thanks everyone for getting there and may we forever be grateful for flying privileges!

More ascending!!!!

So our last post was about ascending and so shall this one be. The first great ascension is into the ranks of people who have male progenitors. Ours is named Isaac Ram Carter and he arrived perfect in every way. ct

He weighed in at 7lbs 15oz and was 20 inches long. He goes by "Ram" and is loved and adored by his big sisters Viana and Brooke. Ram has a cute dimple and very blonde hair and sports a cute old man mullet. I told Brooke (2) she was a big sister but she adamantly insists she is "little".

Our next ascension is Summer and I hiking Pikes Peak on a beautiful fall day. The air was crisp, the aspens in golden glory and the trail steep. Summer patiently walked with me to treeline and then booked it to the top and summited in 6hrs and 50 minutes. She did those last 3 miles above treeline (and above oxygen!) without water and in a blazing 1 hour 25 minutes. I summited at the age of 50 in 8 hours 2 minutes which was a PR by 1 hour and 23 minutes. It is such a total buzz to get to the top and look back down and realize what you've just done. Then, when you get home and look at that monster of a mountain you feel pretty accomplished knowing that you conquered its heights. It was AWESOME!!!!!! Summer and I at 5am.

We DID IT!!!!!!!

Jamie and LaDon and Ally were kind enough to come and pick us up at the top.

Our last great ascension is having the Lindes with us for the past few weeks. Ally is a total roving, blur of cuteness.

Doug loves hovering for handouts.

Ally totally knows what Grandbill says.

Ascend!!!!!

At the Roy house these words are frequently heard, "ahhhh, you BOTTOMFEEDER!" followed with the advice repeated in a desperate tone, "ascend, ascend!" Well, this weekend proved to be one of much ascension. First, Jamie Ally-Mirann Linde and LaDon Ray Linde, Jr. graduated from BYU. This is no small feat and much applause and button-popping proudness should exude forth from all who know the Lindes. Here are a few pics from that great event.
Ally was so proud of her parents she (seemingly) walked right up a wall.

Jamie was first to receive her diploma and was greatly relieved and thrilled to BE DONE! LaDon was proud, Ally was...bored.

LaDon and Jamie were the first of ALL graduates to ring the traditional graduation bell outside the Marriot center, so fast that the rest of us weren't there yet.

All the Linde family was in town and it was so good to see them. Ally enjoyed her Aunt Christy.

Ally was as cute as ever and looked smashing in her mini graduation outfit. She even got a cute wave from President Samuelson and Elder Ballard.

So you think that might be all the ascending that was accomplished, not so!!! Next was Krazy Krista! She has been in training all summer to run in the Pikes Peak Ascent. It's a half marathon (13.2 miles) going straight up Pike's Peak (14,115 ft, elevation gain of 7,600 ft during the race). IT WAS AMAZING!! Krista finished the race in 4 hours 2 minutes and 59 seconds. Just a stroll in the park! Grandpa Norton, Summer and I nearly froze our ptooies off up there though. It was worth it to see Krista's great victory and welcome to the top by her coworkers who made her a great sign. What a grand accomplishment. My favorite comment Krista made after the race was, "now what am I going to do?" I'll bet she does it again, hence the name Krazy Krista!!!
That's Krista crossing the finish line (she has a yellow shirt around her waist)
Krista and her coworker Kim and the great sign they all made.

Krista resting in her sign.
Her take on the whole thing:

At least for a few days in time the Roys have been TOPFEEDERS!

That Was Pretty Good

I knew there was a reason we didn't make a grand blog of our Christmas Break right afterwards! When I recently discovered these pictures, they brought me tenfold joy because the memories were instantly renewed, whereas if we had just rejoiced in them immediately following our grand adventures, we may have forgotten all about them! I know I forgot about a few of these!

Just as a reminder, as part of the Great Roy Family Christmas Challenge, we had to take a series of 9 pictures depicting our adventures during the break. Each picture had to include an object as well as one more person than the previous picture. So...

Charina with the socks she had to buy for us to go bowling. I think they said something like.. "If life gives you lemons, squirt the juice in your enemy's eyes". hahah!

CJ and I both got haircuts at the beginning of the break, so there we are with the scissors.
The boys all got injured, as you'll recall. Dad burnt his finger.. on the fireplace, I think ,Eric smacked his face, and LaDon jammed his finger... oh, boys.
Just laugh at the memory of this picture. hahah.... I don't exactly know what part Eric played in this happening, but you guys all look nice. The Race! LaDon and I ran the 10k, and Sum, Char, and CJ ran the 5k and it was possibly one of the greatest races of my entire life! So there we are with a picture of us training. Even though the movie of us training was way better.
This picture is 6 of us holding the big candy bars which were part of the "Off to the Races" portion of the Great Roy Family Christmas Challenge. We could only find our own, but if someone saw ours, we could ask questions to figure out where it was. An effective system, unless you were LaDon, who couldn't find his even after he stared it in the face.

Yes! The Office! hahaha... Jamie as Kevin with her cupful of "hydration", Sum as the perfect Angela, Krista as Dwight, LaDon as Michael, Charina as Pam, CJ as Phyllis haha, and Eric as Andy. From Cornell. Hahah! What moments!
This picture is us with the calendars which CJ made us, and Sum and I are also holding our playmate sister gifts.
And here's all of us with our targets from rifle shooting at the OTC! Viana tried to take this picture for us at first, and I thought about putting the picture of just our feet in; I stuck with this one, which I think we took using an automatic thing.
As just a bonus, this will most likely make you laugh your head off, and you may have to watch it 10 times, just to see the perfection of every person!

Thanks for the wonderful break! Merry Christmas in August!
