Some work, a LOT of play

So basically, you've already seen these adventures on other blogs but I finally got pics off Dad's phone and thought I'd just do a small recap of some of our adventures in the past month or so.  They are not really in order...as usual, and I sometimes worry it will make Sum and Charina sad they are not here. The intent is to make you all feel part of our lives and let you know that when you get older (not old yet!) life is a blast!!!!  So enjoy the midnight feedings, the daily grind of 10 hour work days (24 for moms), the mad crush of the many demands on your time and know that in 20-30 years you'll have GRANDKIDS and they are THE BEST!!!  Love ya!

One day after Krista's cross country team practice this guy showed up with a camel for a girl's birthday.  Her birthday was on Aug 30! But it wasn't Krista, but it sure did make her day.  She has always loved camels.

We went camping the Friday before Labor Day.  Jamie picked the perfect camp spot.  We had this creek right below our site.

Doug loved it!

I babysat Truman while Billy and Krista went running.

Aunt Renee came to Utah to visit Corinne who lives right across the highway from us.  They got to spend Sunday evening with us and it was so fun.  It was so great to spend time with Aunt Renee.

You guys better hope you got the aging genes of these two.  They look AWESOME!

Most of the group.

Not sure when this was but it is THE FAVORITE place to play.  We have such nice sand.  It's like beach sand, really soft and feels good on your toes.

We got to go to Charina's house for her birthday!!!  We had so much fun! Some work (putting in the wood floor, but no picutres) and lots of play!

Tyler, Joey and I went on lots of walks and Tyler became a confident champion on his bike.  Joey just loves everything, all the time.

Boy house = Super hero house.

Party on!

This is Grace Johnson.  HE is Tyler's doll he takes care of.  He got it when Joey was born and named him after Aleisha's baby even though she is a girl and Grace Johnson is a boy.  He provides us much entertainment.

Our resident adventure planner, Jamie, called us up one Saturday and invited us on this hike.  It was too beautiful to describe.  The rock skipping was great (Jamie beat us all) and the kids climbed like mountain goats!

I made applesauce from Jamie's apples.  So easy!

Daniel learned to ride our little mini bike in about 2 tries and then went home and rode Ally's bike like a veteran.  He's saving $ to buy a boy's bike.  Gotta love that helmet though!

Broken bones do not slow this kid down!

Kris and Tru and Doug and LOTS of wood from the trees Billy cut down.

Dad reroofed the playhouse.  The shingles were coming off.  They put 3 tab on top of timberline. DUH!  Dad enjoyed hazing me all day for having roofing knowledge acquired 35 years ago.

A couple weeks ago Dad and me and Doug jumped in the car drove for 15 minutes and enjoyed a beautiful hike.

We went in Dad's car cause mine was in the shop and Doug instantly knew what to do with open windows!

A trip to the Dino Museum before Jamie and Ally left for California.

Apparently I'm the only one who knows how to properly react to a shark attack.

Last week Dans, Trey and Thunder came and stayed with us for 5 days.  We had a great time and they were such good boys.

The best way to keep Trey safe.  hahaha

Daniel discovered the joy of dominoes.  We watched YouTube videos on some amazing set ups and then tried to recreate them.  We were pretty good!
We took the boys down to Monroe for CJ's birthday and to babysit while she went to her last cross country meet with her whole team.

Something I'm learning.  Boys like to wrestle.  This is Ram, Dans and Easton one of the boys CJ tends.

This is CJ's birthday party.  We're eating cake and she's opening gifts.  Do I have a picture of her? No.

Then we brought Emery home with us for the week while her parents went jetsetting and her siblings went to Disneyland with Grandma Carter.  Emery will get to hold this against them in future years.  But I think she had fun with us...after Trey left....talk about oil and vinegar.

I took all 3 kids and watched Tru at Krista's last practice.  We played on the playground.  If you have two 22 month olds, a 3 month old and a 5 year old at the park.  You basically have no idea what the 5 year old is doing and you're really glad the 3 month old was sleeping.  Phew!  Motherhood is for the young!

Enery's morning face cracked us up!

The first weekend of October we went to Illinois.

Minnie is the best! We took down old wallpaper border and painted her kitchen yellow.

Home sweet home!

It turned out so Happy!

We also had a family gathering at Debbie's which is always awesome even without fish.  We got to see the house Scott is building and I took this picture for Tyler.  Scott's using this old firetruck to work on his roof.

Dad lost his coon foot he's had and needed a new one.  Luckily there were plenty of coons on the roads!

And we finish up with a great event!  Truman's blessing.  The Lindes had their Primary program and at the same time so they couldn't be there and the rest of the Carters were on break so from our side of the fam it was me, Dad and Emery and lots of Hiatts.  We just love it when we get to see them!  They're such a great family.  Most of us headed to Kris and Billy's after church for yummy soup and time to chill.  The October drive up the canyon to their house is breathtaking!

Check out these Elvis pants complete with belt buckle I found in Grandma March's old button box!  He was rockin it!

And that's all for now!

Conference Adventure

Ally and I were the lucky recipients of Women's Conference tickets (Thanks LaDon).  We rode the train up to SLC.  That was a fun adventure cause the train was filled with sisters in zion AND costumed comic-con attenders.  Talk about the funniest mixture you could think of....

We had great seats and Ally was SO good!

We loved all the talks and getting to see Pres Monson.  Ally took wonderful notes.

But she did beat me bad in tictactoe on our train ride!!

Thanks for being such a great conference buddy Als!
