Who is that guy?

You might ask "who is that guy?" or you might say, "That guy looks just like my Dad."

You'd be right. That is our very own Bishop Bill Roy DAD preaching in a Catholic Church!!!

This was for two of his cadets', Tim and Jess, wedding in St Louis this past weekend. It was very interesting! The church was built in 1861 and was just gorgeous, very ornate but beautiful. The whole event was as grand as they come and made us appreciate what we know to be true. That "till death do you part" business is for the birds. Not to mention we have a whole new appreciation for our "cultural hall" receptions! We had a great time in St Louis and Summer and Krista win the award for having a clean house while the parents are away! Good job guys!!!

We did get to go up the St Louis arch. That is one impressive structure!

630 ft tall at it's peak! The whole pod thing is kinda scary. Five "grown" people per pod for the ride up, and trust me the other three people in there with us were very "grown" people. Luckily it's only 4 minutes up and 3 minutes down or claustraphobia would cause problems. Needless to say it wigged my out a bit:
It was a great weekend and we got to do one of our favortie Roy vacation things. Watch Myth Busters, Most Dangerous Catch and a GREAT show on Meerkats!!!! It was an AWESOME time!

A mouse in the house

This story begins Saturday night. A blood curdling scream was heard from downstairs indicating Summer had discovered a dead mouse. No Problem. (Except for Summer who was hyperventilating) To make matters worse Dad had the audacity to pick it up with his hands to carry it to the trash. (more screaming)

Later that night (midnight) I was awakened by the dogs barking like crazy. I got up to investigate only to discover Robert and Matt completing a saran wrap job on Krista's car. I saw a live mouse scurry across the mudroom(no screaming) and so set a trap (the only thing it caught was Doug's nose) but I guess I forgot to mention the sighting to the rest of the family.

Fast forward to Sunday night. Here is a (recreated)picture of the events I'm about to unfold...

Krista was in the pantry and discovered the mouse hiding in a corner with the brooms. She being the bravest of the brave since birth decided to rid our fair household of such a dreaded beast. But alas, she needed help! How she talked Summer into helping we'll never know but it is Krista, the master persuader. So Summer's assignment was to slowly remove the broom so that Krista could drop a bucket on the mouse. The intent was to capture the mouse in the overturned bucket until the manliest of men (Dad) could come and dispose of the heinous intruder or in true Roy fashion just let it live under the bucket till it died from lack of oxygen.

The plan proceeded but since timing is everything it didn't work out perfectly (at least for the mouse)

As the bucket was being dropped the mouse with it's very little brain thought, RUN!!! And as the rule is "he who hesitates is lost", he must have waited just a split second too long. Krista snapped that bucket down quicker than a mouse trap and "headed off" the plans of the mouse. This was surely a "tail" that captured you interest or at least an interest that captured a tail. Needless to say, we no longer have a mouse in the house and happy to say I believe our eardrums will recover!

PROM

It's hard to fathom but Krista is a prom goer. This shouldn't amaze me but it just seems like she and Summer should be playing dress-up for fun not for REAL!!!! She looked so BEEUOOTEEFULL!!!! Reports are she had a great time with her date Robert Miller. They tripled with Karalee Slaugh/Matt Bennion and Natalie McHardy/Josh Burton.
