Homecoming Dance

The Homecoming Queen was looking very bright in her orange dress. Who know's the ankle brace look might catch on in some fashion circles.

Josh Burton (a senior, no really) is Krista's date for the evening. He is astonished!!!

And Krista is good to the core, as usual. They were off to dinner and then on to their own "mormon" dance. However, Krista does have to turn up at the school dance for a while to tend to her "duties." Check in tomorrow for how those all went.

Good News Bad News

And the winner is:

Dad enjoyed his time on the field but was bummed he didn't get to ride in the golf cart but on the outside "HE LOOKED GOOD."

And the bad news is:

Krista was mobbed by her adoring fans when she returned to the stands and she sprained her ankle! This is quite distressing as Doherty's Cross Country team is ranked 2nd in the state. The girl who would replace Krista is 2 minutes slower which would totally take them out of contention so pray for some quick healing.

After the game (we lost....) I came home to a house full of about 50 people eating ice cream. It was such a fun night and tonight is the dance so that should just add to the great experience. But it's hard to top riding in a golf cart and prancing around the football field under the lights with you Dad in a tux and becoming HOMECOMING QUEEN!!!! Couldn't have happened to a better person!!! Way to go Krista!

Homecoming assemby

So I just got back from sneaking into the Homecoming assembly. It had a Disney theme to begin with but then the Joker arrived and took over. It was very spirited. The highlight (for me) was the entrance of the Homecoming court nominees. Here's a video (and NO it's not shaky cause I was crying, I was just far away and it's hard to hold still in the crowd) Krista looked stunning in her blue and green dress and Mr. Mac looked great in his matching green tie. Modest is hottest!!!!

This is a picture afterwards, too bad the coolness of the colors doesn't show. Oh well, they looked very Spartany!!!

Krista goes to court

Don't worry just Homecoming court! Krista has been nominated with 4 other girls for the Homecoming court. This adventure has already been fodder for some great "Roy family epic stories" and it's not over yet. On Friday night Bill will escort Krista onto the football field at good old Garry Barry stadium and they will announce the Queen. Bill's gonna wear the tux he just had made in China and Krista will be in a bright orange dress. Look for the pics on Saturday! All hail Krista!

The joys of MeeMawhood

After a great trip to Utah where everyone is back to health and going strong I decided there's nothing better than being a Grandma. Here's why---

The Carters have an awesome new house in paradise (they weren't exaggerating) and even offer a guest room (the house is WAY bigger than it looks). I highly recommend a visit. Not to mention you get to go to some amazing sporting events! GO SSH!

Labor Day Weekend in Sunnyside

This beautiful little bundle was the main reason for our trip to Sunnyside, Washington for Labor Day weekend.

But we were also excited to see "Michael Phelps" aka Jonas Linde, who spent most of the weekend wondering why we were there. There were indeed a lot of visitors at his house, afterall, it was his parents 25th wedding anniversary celebration, his grandparents 50th wedding anniversary celebration, his youngest sister Erica was getting baptised and the one event he didn't realize was happening, his only niece was being blessed. Hence, the Roys participation. He was only slightly disappointed when he discovered we hadn't come just to see him.
GrandBill got to meet Ally and they became instant pals.

Though if I were Ally I'd be a little afraid when the Grandpas were counseling with her....she gets quite the view doesn't she.
But, life probably looks pretty good when you have all these people to support you plus the very many who weren't there.
I was glad to see Ally for the third time. This is Ally on her one month birthday. She is growing SO fast. Ally actually was blessed on her one month birthday and the day after Krista's 17th!!!! Talk about growing too fast!
We had such a good time celebrating with the Linde family. We had a great tour of the dairy where Krista discovered she's quite the cow whisperer.
We also had some video game, rock band and ping pong show downs. Not to mention the Newlywed game where Dad and I kicked butt on last place.
So thanks Ally for bringing us all together for a GREAT weekend and thanks to all the Lindes for letting us be part of all their celebrations. Good food, good people, and a good baby!!
Looks like maybe we won't have to wait too long to do it all again for your next sibling!
