On the Road Again!

Greetings Fellow Travelers (which is ALL the Roy family):

We spent last week in LA and Utah, and we're spending the next week on a road trip/camping trip to Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, and interesting places in-between. We'll be back next week (July 5th, Vickie's birthday), so I probably won't post any blogs until after that time. Here are some pics from our last adventure!

Some Entertainment for Jamie and Ladon

Greetings Jamie and Ladon:

We've been thinking of you out there in LA! I hope you're having good weather and good times, and enjoying the cool ocean breeze when it comes.

We've been packing CJ's house for the big move on Monday. It was pretty challenging with Viana and Brooke helping out, but we got it done, no prob.

This video is a glimpse of our packing life:

I hope you're having fun!

Get Smart, Get Laughs

Today we decided to have a family outing at the movies to see Get Smart. It was hilarious--the whole experience, not the movie! Viana and Brooke did just fine . . . until the previews ended. Then we made the mistake of passing the popcorn by Brooke, and you know she's obscessed with food. All she could do was suck down popcorn and Sprite like she hadn't eaten in several minutes. So Vick had to take her to crawl in the breezeway of the theater, which she did for 14 laps (to burn off popcorn and make more room, you know). Meanwhile, Viana wanted to see what they were doing, and wouldn't sit still. So I took her out into the hallway. Finally, Vick hit her limit and decided to take the kids home. But before they went (Vick decided to let me and the girls stay and watch the movie), Viana wanted to warn the girls--so she stood in the door to the theater and yelled at the top of her lungs, "Summer and Krista, we're going home! We're going home now!" I'm sure I made matters worse by laughing histerically. We actually did enjoy the movie very much (soo funny) and Vick and Viana and Brooke took a nap under a tree while we watched the movie. When we got home, Viana cracked us up again by announcing that she wanted to "watch a movie." And when we said we were going to eat dinner, Brooke perked up with delight. Here's a few pics of the girls, and a short video:

In the video, Viana is reinacting her famous proclamation: Be sure to see Get Smart if you get a chance . . . but leave the kids at home. :)

And here's a video of Vick's perspective on the experience:

See you at the movies! Love, Dad

The Linde Family in LA!

Jamie and Ladon are in the City of Angeles! Ladon is working there on a 10-week internship with LEK Corporation (a consulting firm) this summer, so they got an apartment in downtown LA (sharing with another couple, Ryan and Rachael). There life is QUITE different from Provo, but it will be a marvelous experience for them both. Also, Jamie will have her baby there on about July 26th at the UCLA medical center. Should be an exciting time! Jamie and I had a wonderful drive from Provo to LA on Monday (July 23rd), so now she'll be in her new home for the rest of the summer. Here are some pics: The last image is a picture of Ladon's work building. Nice! Here's a video of their cute apartment:

They're on their way to the perfect life they deserve!

Have fun, Angelinos!

Camp and After Camp

Whew--we survived Girls Camp! But barely. Here are a few pics from camp, followed by the after-camp action at the Roy home. For those of you who haven't met our newest family member, her name is Yvonne. This was her second year at camp. She has a blast. And here's a video of the excitement we enjoyed after arriving home. At least Grandma and Grandpa pressed on with no problems!

A Dog's Life when Vickie is Away at Girl's Camp

Well, I'm barely surviving since Vickie and the girls are at Girls Camp. Grandma Norton made me dinner, but it wasn't free (though it was sure good!) Here's what it's like to live a dog's life . . .
Now I know how Doug feels whenever he wants food . . . . Fortunately, They'll all be home on Saturday! Love, Dad

A Message To Viana from Grandbill and Skinny MeeMaw

Hello Viana:

Here's a video with funny Meemaw in the background. Isn't she silly?!?

And here is one of my favorite pictures of my precious grandaughter, Viana:

A Charina Test

Now that I'm retired, I have more time to mess around with my blogging skills (I'm blowing off Mom's "Honey-do" list). I made this video using Charina's MORP pictures.

More to follow!

Here are some pics: It took me too maddeningly long, so no jokes!

Lots of Sole in this Blog

Didja hear? I'm now officially retired from the US Air Force! That gig was a marvelous run (27 years) and we loved every minute of it. Sadly, that meant I had to clean out my locker at the shooting range, which included several pairs of shoes.

I want to give some of them away to Eric, since we have the same size feet. When I took a video of the shoes, I thought it would be funny to have Krista wearing my (very old) shoes. It was funny! But only because of the funny faces she made while i was filming. Here are two clips you may enjoy:

And here's the next video including the shoes:

If you think this is funny, wait until you see the video of Krista helping me with the next batch of clothes I want to send Eric: Underwear!

Love,

Dad

It's all in the bag

Being as bored as i can be with nothing else to do, I decided to make something cute and happy. I'm not really sure what spurred me to think of this, but I decided to make a capri sun bag! On Tuesday night mom and I were at Wal-Mart and I picked out some ribbon and was all set! So on Thursday after noon I set to work and I made this happy bag.
Here's a close up:
I feel very accomplished now and I have found that I actually kind of like sewing. It wasn't even that hard to make!
